Premiere Date: November 1, 2025
Description: In Christmas on Duty, Blair (Janel Parrish) and Josh (Parker Young) have been bitter rivals since their training days at Quantico, where they constantly battled for the top spot in their class. Three years later, they’re reunited at their base’s holiday party—where a heated argument lands them both in hot water. Their punishment? “Christmas Duty”: 24 hours of mandatory holiday service together.
Chemistry: They worked well together—no surprise there. Parrish could have chemistry with a wet blanket, and Young held up his end of the bargain. She also played the “rule-follower” well to his “free spirit.” (Also, the little boy who plays the nephew is gold!)
Plot: I wasn’t sure about this one at first. I was totally ready to judge it before it started and give this movie a lower rating, but it won me over. I have some questions about military protocol, but I’m willing to overlook them in order for this movie to work.
Design: This one was solid. The fake snow was of such high quality that they could actually have a legitimate snowball fight. I did catch myself down a Google rabbit hole researching whether female Marines are allowed to wear bright red lipstick while in uniform. (Verdict: doubtful.)
Overall: This was a solid watch. The chemistry definitely carried it, but there were other little moments that boosted it into the four-tree rating.
Best Enjoyed With: A candy cane and the ability to not overthink the Marine Corps disciplinary policies.
