Description: When workaholic CEO Ella Neezer tries to skip Christmas by flying to Australia, she’s in for the flight of her life. Haunted by her past, present, and future, she’s forced to confront the choices that led to her success yet left her flying solo. With the help of three quirky spirits and a surprise reunion with her ex, she might just rediscover the magic of Christmas – and the love she thought she’d lost. Starring Erin Krakow and Tyler Hynes.
Chemistry: Krakow and Hynes are back doing what they do best. They’ve had great chemistry together in other Hallmark movies and it’s once again working in their favor for this one.
Plot: As a Dickens devotee, I braced myself for creative liberties—but this one actually sticks close to A Christmas Carol in the right ways. Even better, it drops in a few classic lines for good measure. The flight crew ghosts worked pretty well and I even appreciated the flight puns and gimmicks throughout.
Design: The holiday decor hits Hallmark standard issue: snowflakes, sparkle, and cozy interiors galore. But let’s talk about that plane. For a supposed first-class cabin, it looked like a regional commuter flight. If they’d splurged on a believable set, this could’ve easily hit five trees.
Overall: A clever spin on a timeless tale, buoyed by strong performances. If only Tiny Tim hadn’t been turned up to eleven—bless his overacting little heart.
Best Enjoyed With: A gingerbread latte, a neck pillow, and a free seat upgrade.
