Premiere Date: November 2025
Description: Emily Lane is a good-natured Christmas shop owner with a secret past. When local murders begin to pop up in Fletcher’s Grove, Emily can’t help but to use her unique talents from her past life to help solve murders that affect people in her new life. She crosses paths with Detective Sam Wilner who she starts to make a connection with, until he comes to learn there is more to Emily than meets the eye. Starring Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney.
Chemistry: Drew and Mooney are dialed in for season two. Their tension in the first episodes is believable, and they play it really well. As the season moves forward, their progression into something deeper is right on par with the best duo dynamics Hallmark mysteries have offered.
Plot: Season two steps up its game. Bless them—they finally give us meaningful pieces of Emily’s past instead of dangling breadcrumbs. Once the show stops hinting and actually addresses her history, everything feels more real and like it has actual repercussions for her life.
Design: It’s all pretty standard Hallmark holiday set design. Special shout-out to Emily’s Christmas store, which looks like a real small-town boutique rather than a last-minute pop-up.
Overall: If you’re looking for a little mystery mixed in with you Christmas theme, these are right there to scratch that itch.
Best Enjoyed With: A soft blanket, a warm fire, and someone to help you figure out who the red herring is.
