The Christmas Spark [Great American]

Rating: 🎄🎄🎄🎄

Premiere Date: November 28, 2025

Description: In The Christmas Spark, a passed-over corporate lawyer (Lopez) joins his small town’s fire department, where he competes with a fallen hero’s son – and finds unexpected sparks with his widowed mom (Cobrin).

Chemistry: I’ll admit my expectations were low going in. Even with a “name” like Mario Lopez, Great American movies usually struggle. This one broke expectations and delivered.

Plot: The plot of this one was genuinely sweet and unexpected. A mid-life crisis man going against the young guys as a fire department cadet… it was new and well-done. The building of all of the relationships was what made this movie, though.

Design: Honestly? I didn’t notice it—and for Great American, that’s a compliment. Nothing pulled me out of the story.

Overall: This was a solid outing from Great American. It’s a sweet story and it had me invested to see how it would all shake out. A nice surprise and worth a watch.

Best Enjoyed With: Some spicy hot chocolate and a crackling (yet safely tended) fire.
